About the Summit
The Nucleate Summit will be hosted in Boston, Massachusetts on August 29-30th, unifying the world’s largest biotech student community [registration + info here].

The two-day celebration will harness the potential of the Nucleate network from around the world, comprising hundreds of volunteers, founders, and investors. The Leadership Summit (Day 1) includes shared experiences that will strengthen bonds among Nucleate leadership, alumni, special guests, and sponsors. The Community Summit (Day 2) includes premier networking opportunities, inspirational speakers, and the Activator Pitch Showcase, featuring recent winners from the 9 Nucleate regions. We are seeking motivated individuals with a degree in the life sciences and full-time work experience in consulting and/or the biopharmaceutical industry. A successful experienced analyst candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in the life sciences in addition to the below

  • PhD / post-doc in the life sciences or MD to be completed by September 2023

  • Demonstrated interest in consulting

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English

  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Highly analytical approach to solving complex problems

Position Summary

As one of Putnam’s Life Sciences Consultants you will help lead and execute with a team of Associates to complete projects.  Working with Managers and Partners you will:

Interact with clients to understand problems, and develop and refine hypotheses to test

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for the Life Sciences Consultant position will have a PhD from a top school and demonstrated excellence as undergraduates, graduates and during any previous employment opportunities.  Proven analytic abilities, a rigorous background, presentation skills, management experience and a team-oriented attitude are essential.   PhDs in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or Engineering are most desirable. PhD candidates doing a Postdoc will also be considered. A demonstrated passion for health care or the life sciences is essential. An active interest in commercial strategy or the business side of health care is preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting proprietary research evaluating drug pipelines by analyzing preclinical and clinical data, attending medical conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders

  • Writing research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, and industry/company news

  • Creating clinical trial statistical models/analyses

  • Delving into intellectual properties, the patent law and litigations related to biotech and pharmaceuticals

Key qualifications:
