Casebook Competition 

We are thrilled to announce that 2023 Casebook Competition has officially come to a close, and it is with great pleasure that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the top three teams! Thank you to all participants, judges, and supporters for making this competition a resounding success!

The Yale Graduate Consulting Club (YGCC) is delighted to announce our Fall Casebook Competition, which will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM EST via Zoom. The casebook competition is an opportunity to apply your creative skills and be featured in the next casebook from Yale. You will also get the chance to attend coaching sessions from offer-holders of top consulting firms, a one-on-one mentoring session for feedback, and a tutorial workshop on presentation skills. Participants will present their solutions to offer-holders of top consulting firms and compete for cash prizes.

During the info session, individuals will be informed of the rules and evaluation criteria. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and find members to form teams. We look forward to seeing you there! 

Prize information

Team prizes:

  • 1st place: $300

  • 2nd place: $200

  • 3rd place: $100

  • $150 extra prize money for special industry (Healthcare, life sciences; Mining, oil & gas; Agriculture; Non-profit, education, government; Financial services, if the case enters the 5 finalists)

  • Friday, 10/27, 11:59 PM EST: Team case submission deadline

  • Tuesday, 11/07, 6 PM - 7:30 PM EST: Competition presentation day

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Any undergraduate, graduate student (Masters, Ph.D., JD, or MD), postdoctoral fellow, or a recent graduate

  • One undergraduate and one MBA per team at maximum

  • Interested in management consulting; a business background is not required!

  • Entry fee: $15/person

How to Apply

  • Register as a team of 2-5 members via this link, with a 1-page resume per person, plus 1 cover letter per team

  • Registration closes Tuesday, 10/10, 11:59 PM EST

  • A registration fee of $15 per person will be required. It contributes to the cash prizes and is non-refundable. Payment can be made via this link

  • Please come to our info session on Tuesday, 9/27, 6 PM - 7:30 PM EST with networking to find your teammates (sign up here) or fill out this team-building spreadsheet to form your team

  • Please attend our case walkthrough workshops for case introductions by offer-holders of top consulting firms, and the tutorial workshop on presentation skills to help you better prepare for the competition. We will announce the details of these sessions very soon through our newsletter. Please be on the outlook for that. 

Note that you will not be able to register in the casebook competition without the payment of a $15 registration fee per person. All participants including Yale-affiliated students or post-docs need to pay the registration fee.
